He's still talking about the game, every thing they did right, the few things they did wrong. Hubby's very defensive about his defensive lineman. He can get onto them about what they did wrong, but don't anyone else (except the other coach, Mike) say anything about his boys. He's like a momma hen that way.
The boys were feeling proud and had to pose for me. It's hard to believe they are seniors already. We'll sure miss this bunch of boys.
I had to get a picture of Hubby (the blond, grey bearded one) Jason, who is his lineman, and Coach Mike. Even tho they are close to the same age, Mike & Rick figured out that Mike could have coached Rick in High School. Yes, he's been coaching that long. We've known Jason since he was in PreK, so he's kinda special to us.
Check out that score board in the back, yep, we had the 35! The one thing I love about this team is everyone is the team, and everyone gathers midfield to hear what the coach has to say after the game, good or bad. Coach saves the really bad stuff for Monday at practice, when only the boys need to hear it. This year the students are really getting into the school spirit stuff. They make their own tshirts every week. It's kinda cute. They run to the sidelines when we get close to scoring or when the other team gets close to score. The week we (the defense) held the other team on the one yard line and didn't let them score. THAT was a good thing! The students helped by yelling, DEFENSE! DEFENSE! DEFENSE!.
I'm going to enjoy this week of no football by attending the fair. I'll be in the Scrapbooking booth, so if you are in the area, especially Thursday and Friday night, come see me!
