It's always me. I'm the good one, the responsible one. Everyone else has gone off to play and I'm holding the fort so they can.
It's quiet, no phones, no email, no walk-ins. Nothing but the rain trying to lull my drowsy head to sleep. The hum of the computer adding to the soft rain. I need an adrenaline rush, something to wake me up.
There's always tomorrow. Tomorrow when the good one walks that ragged edge of disaster and leaves not one, not two, not three, but several hours early. Just so I can hit the road of adventure to Sebring. That way I can wave at the cats as they return from Jax headed west on I-10 and I'll be heading east.
I mean if you are going to walk the walk, why not push it to the edge?
